Like the Olsens, Emma Watson and Natalie Portman before her, Miranda Cosgrove is putting her acting career on hold this fall to attend college. The “iCarly” star is all set to matriculate at the University of Southern California, and when she stopped by the MTV News offices this week to chat about Michelle Obama's guest appearance on her Nick show, she also revealed why she wanted to pursue her latest role as college co-ed.

“I’m really excited. I loved school. I went to school until fifth grade, and then I started doing home schooling, but I just loved everything about it,” she explained. “I loved being in the classroom and having friends and the whole school environment. So I’m excited to maybe live in a dorm and make new friends and have the college experience.”

Miranda Cosgrove is all grown up! The "iCarly" star just turned 18 in May and recently appeared in Elle magazine's "Big Bang Theory" photoshoot, where she sported a boho chic look—something we haven’t seen on the actress before.

Miranda has matured in the spotlight, and over the years we have seen her rock several different fashion styles. When we caught up with the Nickelodeon star at the Neutrogena Wave for Change event, we had to ask how she thinks her style has evolved over the years.

"I think my style has changed a lot," she said. "When you’re growing up you try so many different things. I've definitely evolved and changed, and I think I’m lucky to have the stylist on my show. She’s been helping me since I was little to go through magazines and find cool stuff.”

Miranda Cosgrove is having a busy summer. In early June, her hit TV show "iCarly" joined forces with fellow Nickelodeon series "Victorious" for a crossover episode, "iParty with Victorious." She had First Lady Michelle Obama hit the set for an upcoming episode, and she’s gearing up for a summer tour. Yet, with all that going on, Miranda still makes it a point to give back not only to her fans, but to her community as well.

Miranda recently attended the Pretty Amazing event in New York City, where she helped to choose one lucky girl to appear on the cover of Seventeen magazine. The winner of this opportunity will receive a $10,000 scholarship from Neutrogena Wave for Change campaign. Teaming up with Global Giving, this campaign provides an opportunity to give back on a worldwide level, and leading the cause is Miranda, who is a Neutrogena Brand Ambassador.

"I’ve been involved with Neutrogena for a while now, and I’m really happy to be a part of the whole Wave for Change program," Miranda told MTV News. "Every time someone buys the product it gives back to charity."

This Saturday in the epic "iCarly"/"Victorious" crossover episode, "iParty With Victorious," the worlds of the two hit Nickelodeon series collide. How does it all go down? The girls end up dating the same guy, causing Seattle native Carly to make the trek to L.A., where Tori lives, to find out what the deal is.

"Honestly, I thought it was going to be a lot of fun. I had known everybody on the 'Victorious' show, and I'm friends with all of them," Miranda Cosgrove explained to us at the show's L.A. premiere last week. "Everybody came together and we had a really good time.

What would make prom even better? Maybe adding some singing to the dancing? If that's your thing, then rejoice: The "Glee" prom is just around the corner! Star Max Adler (pictured) took to Twitter to hype the episode—and some upcoming details about his own prom. "Hey my tweeps!! Please check me out on the show @10onTop on @MTV tomorrow 5/7 at 11:30a! I'll be discussing GLEE Prom & MY real Prom!" If you can't wait for the episode, you can get a temporary "Glee" fix with their version of Rebecca Black's "Friday," which was just released. With Mother's Day just around the corner, some stars were more excited about mom than prom. Jay DeMarcus showed his mother love with a aww-inducing tweet, "Back to Nashville for Mother's Day weekend!! Sorry to everyone but I have the best mother on the planet... None can compare...." Mom club member Denise Richards posted about a celebration with one of her little ones, tweeting, "Lola's class had a beautiful Mother's day tea for us moms..so lovely." Radio Disney's Jake Whetter asked followers what their Mother's Day plans were, "What are you doing for mom this Mother's Day?" Which reminds us, we should probably get on that...

The "Thor" premiere is fast approaching and bringing new meaning to the phrase "oh my god." The latest solo "Avenger" comic book flick stars Chris Hemsworth (as in the hunky brother of Miley Cyrus beau/future Gale Hawthorne Liam Hemsworth), and the young stars are of the film are just as excited as we are about the movie. Kat Dennings (pictured) started the day off with a hyperactive stream of excitement, tweeting, "THOR THOR THOR THOR THOR THOR THOR THOR THOR #THOR." Co-star Jaimie Alexander was a little more coherent about looking forward to the big premiere. "Woohooo very excited for the #THOR premiere tonight!!!!!! :)" she tweeted.

Comic-influenced wasn't the only variety of crime fighting that was a hot topic today. Like the rest of the country, many stars were quick to voice their opinions about the news that terrorist Osama bin Laden was killed over the weekend. Rob Thomas was happy about the news, tweeting, "don't get me wrong. i can't remember ever being GLAD someone was dead and i'm glad he is. i just know there's already another in his place." Ryan Seacrest tweeted about the news' affect on the city of New York, "Being in NYC late last night was incredible. People chanting "USA! USA!" Bars handing out American flags & free champagne."

Last night's decisive championship games earned the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers a spot in the Super Bowl, much to the delight, dismay and, well, sometimes indifference, of many celebs on Twitter. Don't go, Reege! This morning TV legend Regis Philbin announced he'll be retiring from "Live With Regis and Kelly." The news bummed out many celebs who have appeared as guests on the show, including actress Sophia Bush who cried, "Boo! I love Regis. He's one of my favs. He'll be missed." Meanwhile, Olympic skater Apolo Anton Ohno pondered, "I did hear that Regis is retiring...it will be tough to find a replacement..that man is incredible!" but former *NSYNC member Joey Fatone already had someone lined up for the job...himself! Joey, pictured, who has previously worked on shows like "The Singing Bee" tweeted, "Maybe they need a nyc native to take his place ! I better start practicing my hosting skills again!"

But Regis leaving his job won't be the only big change coming to mornings. Starbucks has announced they'll introduce the "Trenta" size for their iced coffees and iced teas. Singer Michelle Branch explained from her page that, "Trenta means 30 in Italian but it will be 31-ounces, which is 16 ml larger than a human stomach at rest" while funny man Conan O'Brien had his own explanation on his Twitter page, "I can't wait to try the new gigantic Starbucks size, "Trenta". Or as it's called in The Midwest, "A Medium"." Elsewhere, Cobra Starship band member Victoria Asher noted, "Man, I'd hate to spill a new Starbucks Trenta sized coffee on my lap."

"What's your sign?" What used to be a simple pick-up line is something of a loaded question after yesterday's news/debacle that the Zodiac signs have changed. Celebs pondered their new fates, including Steve Martin who joked, "According to the new Zodiac sign dates, I am now a Kitten" and Haylie Duff who noted, "I'm now an aquarius? I was quite comfortable in my Pisces water. Guess it's time to take a deep breath of my new air." Plenty of famous tweeters had opinions on the "new" sign Ophiuchus, including Dave Coulier who cracked, "Ophiuchus sounds like a cuss word that an alien would use in a funny sci-fi film. "The intruders have breached the air lock! Ophiuchus!"

The stars may not have aligned in 2011 for our Zodiac signs, but they sure did in Hollywood today. Miranda Cosgrove teamed up with Weezer front man Rivers Cuomo (both pictured), as she alerted fans, "Put the finishing touches on a new song today with @riverscuomo! What a great guy :)."
