Nick Jonas is one of the many familiar faces making a cameo on NBC’s highly anticipated, theater-themed drama, “Smash.” With the show’s premiere mere weeks away (February 6! Mark your calendars!), the Broadway-bound singer/actor recently chatted with MTV News about his run on the show.
"The character on 'Smash' is really a fun character,” Nick dished. "He's Lyle West, and he’s kind of a celebrity. He’s just been sold into syndication and, you know, so there’s some financial benefits to all of that. So Anjelica Huston’s character—who’s amazing to work with, by the way, and the whole time I was pinching myself thinking it was a dream—she plays the producer of the show."
Despite all those not-so-nice things you may have heard about theater people, it sounds like there's no cattiness coming out of the latest musical show made for TV! MTV News' Josh Horowitz caught up with Katharine McPhee, star of the upcoming series "Smash," on the Golden Globes red carpet this weekend—and when he asked whether there's any competition, friendly or otherwise, between the actors of "Smash" and the "Glee," she assured him that everything's copacetic.
"We're so secluded from L.A.," she said, going on to explain that there's been no mingling between the bi-coastal productions. "We haven't had any interaction—nobody's had any sort of conversations about [that]. We're just really grateful that Glee has opened the door and made music work on television!"

In early 2012, Nick Jonas will not only hit the Great White Way in "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying," he'll also tackle the role of a Broadway actor on the small screen in "Smash."
Broadway World has the news that Nick will cameo on the upcoming NBC show. The series, starring Debra Messing, Anjelica Huston and Katherine McPhee, centers around the on- and off-stage drama of Broadway. Nick is set to appear in a February episode, playing a famous sitcom actor who got his start as a kid star on Broadway.

Every once and a while, Jonas Brothers fans take to Twitter to make the guys a trending topic. There are a range of great ones to choose from, so when we sat down with Nick Jonas recently, we just had to find out which one really tickles his fancy. Spoiler alert: It happens to be our favorite one as well.
"There have been a couple [that are really great]. I always think the #jonasshirtless ones are hilarious," he explained. "I've seen that up there a couple times, which cracks me up. But our fans are amazing. They're very passionate and they show their love through the trending topics and we really do appreciate it."

There seems to be an encore in the works for "The Last Song" co-stars Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth, who are rumored to be back together according to E! Online.
The can't-seem-to-make-up-their-minds couple met on the set of the 2009 Nicholas Sparks film and went through a few rounds of break up/make up before calling it quits again last fall. Now it looks as though the twosome is back on, however—Liam plans to accompany Miley on the Australian leg of her Gypsy Heart tour this June.
With a tenuous track record like theirs, it's hard to say if Miley and Liam will last this time, but we're certainly rooting for them (such a cute couple!). And it's not like Miley and Liam are alone—lots of our favorite couples have played a little yo-yo with our hearts, going back and forth before reconciling—or calling it quits—for good. Here are some of the couples that have had us on the edge of our seats.

The Jonas Brothers are up for three orange blimps at the Kids' Choice Awards next month, and Nick Jonas recently admitted to MTV News that the guys are certainly ready to take home one of the trophies come awards night.
"We're really blessed to be nominated for favorite band again this year," he dished. "We'd love to win it. That'd be great. We're up against some great people, who have had some great success."
Aside from the music accolade, the guys (well, specifically Nick and Joe) are also up for an acting prize. But Nick wants fans to write in another brother to take home the award.

News spread like wildfire this morning that Kourtney Kardashian was engaged to her boyfriend Scott Disick. Turns out, that's exactly what it was for Kourtney: news! The reality star addressed the rumors that she would wed her longtime (and, let's be honest, not always beloved) baby daddy, when she wrote from her Twitter page, "WOW!! Where do the mags come up with this stuff? And claiming exclusives? Come on now." While her little sister Khloe Kardashian (pictured here with Kourtney) wouldn't address the story, she did share, "Just saw @KourtneyKardash new house! It looks fab already! Can't wait until everything is unpacked! Mason I can't get enough of you!"
But Kourtney, Scott and baby Mason weren't the only fam with changes ahead. Jessica Alba announced that she and her hubby Cash Warren are expanding their brood, as she linked to her Facebook page from Twitter to tell fans, "It's been a while since I've been on FB & I thought I'd drop by to let you all in on some exciting news>Honor is going to be a Big Sister!" The actress got plenty of well wishes from the Twitterverse, including some from pals like rocker Joel Madden who wrote, "Congrats you two @cash_warren @jessicaalba some of the best parents around. Happy for you guys!! Another superhuman on its way!!!" and his brother-bandmate Benji Madden, "@cash_warren @jessicaalba Congrats you two! You sure do make beautiful babies! Uncle Benj is stoked!"

With a little under a month until the nominations for the 2011 Oscars are announced, celebs are making sure they're ready to receive their ballot by checking out all the Academy Award front-runners. The Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale boxing biopic "The Fighter" (which has already stacked up a bunch of accolades, including Golden Globe nominations) knocked out some tweeting celebs including the Pussycat Dolls' own Ashley Roberts who wrote, "Just saw Fighter....genius!! I got so into the boxing. Woohoo. Wish real boxing was still that intense. Bale was amazing." She wasn't the only one wowed by a supporting role in the flick, as Olivia Wilde wondered, "Just watched The Fighter. Sooo should I go drop off Melissa Leo's Oscar right now?"
Some stars made sure to check out the latest from the Coen Brothers, their remake of the Western classic "True Grit." Nick Jonas (pictured) was especially impressed by its leading man Jeff Bridges as he posted from his page, "Just saw True Grit!
