Pretty Little LiarsIn case you, like me, were wondering, "Truth Up" doesn't appear to be a real thing (at least according to Google), meaning last night's "Pretty Little Liars" wasn't a true "very special episode." But with bribes, illegitimate pregnancies and potential child abuse at the forefront, it sure did cover some heady ground.

As you could have predicted, the episode began in the vice principal's office, where a suitable punishment for Hanna's naked Kate text blast was the topic of discussion. Instead of expelling her, VP Tamborelli decided Hanna and Kate would have to work out their differences during the school's Truth Up event, a night of secret spilling meant to heal old wounds, build camaraderie and send teens into a panicky truth spiral.

Ashley BensonForget Rosewood. "Pretty Little Liars" actress Ashley Benson has very different vacation plans. The 22-year-old starlet has signed on to star in the indie "Spring Breakers," alongside Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens, Deadline reports.

The casting announcement comes shortly after news broke that Emma Roberts had dropped out of the project, which is slated to begin filming next month. The report notes, however, that Ashley is not replacing Emma and that producers are still on the hunt for a fourth girl.

Our "Pretty Little Liars" just can't seem to catch a break in the relationship department. For every happy moment shared between two Rosewood lovebirds there seems to be a corresponding dramatic or disruptive occurrence that shakes things up. Take Toby and Spencer, for example. Have we seen the last of the lovesick lad? (You'll recall from last week's episode that Toby left his truck—and Rosewood—behind.) And will Spencer turn to Wren's charming, supportive shoulder to cry on? These are the questions we asked Troian Bellisario (a.k.a. Spencer) recently when she stopped by MTV News.

"I don't think Toby can ever be gone forever because he's Spencer's true love," Troian admitted. "I'm not saying there isn't something with Wren. There's a lot of things with Wren, and there are always going to be things with Wren, but when the true love of your life leaves, he never leaves your heart, and I think Spencer is going to work on ways to get him back."

Pretty Little LiarsMen of Rosewood: If you value life and limb, do not date one of the "Pretty Little Liars." That was basically the over-arching lesson of last night's episode of the ABC Family drama. Whether this also applies to women (i.e. Maya) is yet to be seen, as she was conveniently absent from the proceedings. Let's review the other rocky romances:

Spencer and Toby
Spencer, more than anyone, is a pro at sending mixed messages. Sure, she and Toby shouldn't be together, but that doesn't mean they can't make out in his pick-up truck on occasion, right? Wrong. A knows about their clandestine kissing, texting Spencer as much. So when Toby stops by the Hastings' to pick up his tools, and rings Spencer's cell, it's Emily who answers saying S is "unavailable at the moment." Smooth, Em. Toby returns later to dismantle the scaffolding around the barn, but A (sort of) beats him to it, loosening a screw which sends the supports (and Toby) tumbling. It's okay, though! He only has a concussion and a broken arm. But it's enough to spur Spencer to end things once and for all...in probably the most cowardly way ever. She has Emily (her official Toby liaison, apparently) tell him she's into someone else. Toby assumes its Dr. McGleamy (Wren) and splits from Rosewood. Forever?

So Lucas is a gambling addict? That's the reason for all those furtive glances and sneaky actions? Of all the causes for Lucas' odd behavior, a penchant for wagering other people's money was the last one I ever imagined. I mean, what an oddball red herring. But also, will Lucas have to pay for all that lake dredging and police force overtime, like he's arunaway bride, or something?

Before the girls learn Lucas isn't actually sleeping with the fishes, they unearth another A clue from the lake house: a bag of disposable cell phones and a receipt from something called a Smitty's in Philadelphia. Spencer decides to track down the establishment in question, hopping a train to the city with Aria in tow. When the scent leads to a newsstand, it looks like a dead end until Spencer spots a bunch of blind people wandering around (just go with me here...). She follows, stumbling upon a rehabilitation center—the same rehabilitation center where Jenna spent her days following the accident. Though the receptionist won't give Spencer any information (better brush up on your HIPAA regulations, S!), a nearby patient says he knows Jenna and spills how AMAZING she was to him during his own rehab. Wait, are they talking about the same Jenna? On her way out, Spencer swipes the visitor's log from Jenna's stay hoping for clues.

We know there's always something dramatic happening with our "Pretty Little Liars"—it's part of the reason why we love them so. Obviously, all of our attention is focused on the show's biggest mystery, namely the unveiling of A's identity, which if we find out the answer at the end of this season (which we're supposed to) leaves a lot of room for new dramatic plot twists and turns next season.

MTV News was lucky enough to catch up with stars Lucy Hale and Keegan Allen at the People's Choice Awards last night (Lucy brought Keegan as her date! How cute is that?!?), where we tried to gain some insight from the two as to what might unfold next and what kind of mystery will replace the identity of A.

"I can tell you that the girls go through insane trials and tribulations," Keegan teased. "The most interesting thing to me is Aria and Ezra's relationship. Obviously [Lucy] will tell you more about it when she gets here. Toby and Spencer go through this insane whirlwind of emotions. A is doing some stuff. I don't want to say anything, but it's going to be pretty out of control."

So what might replace the A identity drama next season?

Pretty Little LiarsYou guys... If I ever receive a surprise-party invitation from Hanna Marin, please remind me to RSVP, "No way, Jose." Bitch throws one deadly fete. (RIP, Lucas?) Before we relive the lake soiree from hell, let's go back to the beginning.

The episode picked up right where last week's winter premiere concluded: with the girls lurking in the creepy greenhouse, post-attack. They're contemplating what to do with A's phone, with everyone but Hanna keen on having mobile maven Caleb crack the cell. In the midst of their argument, the phone in question begins ringing and a game of Hot Potato ensues until Hanna's left holding the scorching spud. For a second, it looks like she's going to answer it. That is, until the glass above them shatters, sending them scrambling to the car, resolving to put Caleb on the case. He obliges, but partway through the data download, the owner deactivates the phone. He's been able to salvage a bit (hopefully more than Angry Birds!), but says it will take some time to access.

Pretty Little Liars"Someone will go missing. Someone will die. Someone will be exposed." Just another season in Rosewood, right? "Pretty Little Liars" returned last night with its winter premiere, and if you've been keeping even the most tenuous tabs on the ABC Family drama during its hiatus, you know the back half of season two is going to be big. Namely, we'll finally learn the identity of mysterious, maniac texter A! The liars got dangerously close last night, but let's not get too ahead of ourselves.

As you'll recall from August's mid-season finale, Aria, Spencer, Emily and Hanna were caught in a precarious position by the police—they were found in the middle of the woods, in the dead of night, holding the murder weapon that did in Queen Bee Alison. Now, a month later, the girls are clad in neon orange jumpsuits, picking up garbage by the side of the road as part of their community service for tampering with evidence. Yep, no murder charges yet (not enough evidence), but one thing's certainly amiss: Emily's had a falling out with the girls. So much for solidarity. In fact, tensions are running so high that she and Spencer get in a knock-down, drag-out cat fight, earning themselves an extra two weeks of litter duty.

Ready those texting fingers, "Pretty Little Liars" fans, because we have some major news you'll want to blast across your social network. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the identity of A—the mysterious texter terrorizing the teen inhabitants of Rosewood—will be revealed in the season two finale airing March 19! The report also noted that someone will be arrested for Alison's murder (the same someone revealed to be A?) and that a beloved character will be killed (don't worry, it won't be one of the four leads).

It's a huge revelation indeed, seeing as much of the conflict in the ABC Family series has revolved around A's manipulative messages and the havoc they wreak. In fact, the news sent us into total bloodhound mode, sniffing for any and all clues as to who exactly A could be. We've fingered five likely suspects after the jump (evidence included). Check out our hunches, leave your own and vote in our poll to tell us who YOU think A is.

Torrey Devittoby Ryan Downey

The hottest show starring two on-screen vampire brothers will soon feature some family relations behind-the-scenes, too.

Torrey DeVitto is set to appear in at least two episodes of "The Vampire Diaries" next year, according to The Hollywood Reporter. TV audiences know Torrey best as Melissa from ABC Family's "Pretty Little Liars," but Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvatore to us "TVD" fans) knows her best as his wife! The pair were married in a small New York City ceremony in April and have been dating since they made "Killer Movie" together in 2007.
