The second trailer for Garry Marshall's celebrity-saturated romantic comedy, "New Year's Eve," has dropped (just like the ball in Times Square!), and though the clip doesn't ring in a lot of fresh footage, there are a few moments worthy of a closer look. So call Ryan Seacrest and commence the countdown: 5, 4, 3...
Love in an elevator
I'll admit to being rather dumbfounded as to the location of Lea Michele and Ashton Kutcher's celebration when I first watched the teaser trailer back in July. And now it's been spelled out for me: It's an elevator. The roomiest elevator in Manhattan, apparently. Regardless, if a later glimpse of Lea singing in Times Square is any indication, it looks as though the two escape in time for midnight.

As a glance at the latest red-carpet styles will tell you, the first couple weeks of September are a tricky time for dressing oneself. It's a strange time of year—too late for skimpy summer clothes, too early to break out the full-on Fall Looks, and with temperatures so fickle, something which seems perfectly comfortable in the A.M. can lead to crisis levels of Crotch Swamp by noon. And, for the celebrity ladies who walked the red carpet this week, it was a real hit-or-miss moment for putting an outfit together...as today's Style Superstar shows only too well! Which fashion "Warrior" took home the gold for conquering this style challenge? And who (color)blocked herself from a win this time around? Read on!

Although there's no edict against sporting bare shoulders after Labor Day, it can still be a tough look to pull off. But Jennifer Morrison, who showed up at the "Warrior" premiere in this gleaming gold party dress by Jacques Fath Haute Couture, has got perfect season-spanning style. Instead of trying to get away with a too-wispy summertime look, Jennifer went for a below-the-knee hemline and textured detailing that give the dress plenty of weight, and her champagne-colored close-toed pumps are fully on the side of fall. But the strapless silhouette and gleaming sheen? Pure Indian summer, and a perfect offset to her pretty blond hair. (Not that we need to tell Jennifer that; with that giant smile, we're pretty sure the girl knows she looks awesome.)

Rumors of a third "Sex and the City" film began circulating the moment (if not before) Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte hopped atop camels in Abu Dhabi. And now, we've got a super secret sneak peek at a page of that leaked script. Kinda.
In our latest After Hours segment, Josh Horowitz sits down with "I Don't Know How She Does It" co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Greg Kinnear to talk all about their upcoming comedy and debut—FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER—a scene from "Sex and the City 3." Which may or may not have been written by Josh.

"SATC" might be O-V-E-R, but we still like to check in from time to time with the star who made Carrie Bradshaw a household name. So it's lovely to see Sarah Jessica Parker, wearing a very "Carrie" colorblocked frock and gracing the cover of next month's Marie Claire! Inside, the notorious SJP poses for a series of photos (including one slightly-disturbing shot where she appears to be wearing a skirt made out of muppet skin) and chats with her interviewer about how, despite a lifetime in the celebrity spotlight, she really just wants to be a regular person.
"I never wanted to be a celebrity; I never wanted to be famous," she explained. "And in my daily life, I work really hard not to trade on it in any way. I am so desperately worried about anybody saying, She cut in line, or She took our table, or She got out of jury duty, or She doesn't do her own grocery shopping. The things that bother me are counter to who I am and the way I live. It's not like it's hard to be decent and respectful and well-behaved. I do wait in line, and I do take the subway, and I do do my own grocery shopping, and I do take the kids to school."

Now that its approximately four hundred bajillion casting announcements are out of the way, things are in full swing for Garry Marshall's "New Year's Eve"! And the massive ensemble comedy has just released its first teaser trailer, with a blink-and-you'll-miss-it mashup of... I don't even know, like, 20 different storylines. All of which will undoubtedly converge in a giant, pyrotechnic dance number at the end! Probably! Maybe.
It's hard to keep track of what's what in this rapid-cut extravaganza, but here's what we've got: Ashton Kutcher wearing a sadbeard; Lea Michele doing her best Pollyanna; Sarah Jessica Parker and the Dress of Despair; Katherine Heigl getting slap-happy; Zac Efron playing wish-fulfiller to Michelle Pfeiffer; Josh Duhamel running around in a tux; ummmm something something Halle Berry; and pregnant Jessica Biel. Oh, and Robert De Niro as the erudite grandaddy of all things Auld Acquaintance. Woohoo! (Watch the trailer after the jump!)

We'd heard a whisper or two that Sarah Jessica Parker — whose name will be forever entwined with "Sex and the City" and its leading lady, Carrie Bradshaw — wasn't too psyched about the possibility of her beloved franchise getting tapped for a prequel. (Her reaction, reported by Vulture after rumors circled earlier this winter that Blake Lively would be playing a high-school-aged, pre-NYC Carrie: "Whaaaaaaaat?!") But when we caught up with SJP at Cannes and asked if she's still feeling less-than-thrilled about turning back the clock on "SATC," the actress' expression of surprise was pretty much second-to-none (I mean wow, her eyeballs practically fling themselves out of her head!).
"I think it always comes down to story," she explained after a hasty protest and the warning that she can't really discuss what may or may not be happening next. "What is the story that people want to tell?"
Of course, it's natural that the actress feels a sense of ownership over the character she brought to life — and who became a cultural icon in her own right. "I feel proprietary, in the best possible way, about that entire franchise," she admitted. "But I think there are lots of talented storytellers, and lots of talented actors who might be part of it, and I think like anything you base your opinion on material and content. And that would be the only way for any of us to have an opinion."

After months of speculation and headlines, today the world found out just who Kate Middleton had picked as her royal wedding dress designer. Kate looked sleek and sophisticated in an Alexander McQueen gown—designed by Sarah Burton, the label's creative director—when she married Prince William in Westminster Abbey.
An official statement from the royal family sums up why Kate chose the forward-thinking, U.K.-based fashion house, crediting it for combining "tradition and modernity with the artistic vision that characterizes ... McQueen's work." Sarah joined Alexander McQueen in 1997 and took over the brand's designing duties in 2010, after McQueen's unexpected death in February.
The Duchess of Cambridge joins a long list of celebrities who have donned McQueen for important public events. Here are some of our favorites:

From Sarah Jessica Parker to Aretha Franklin (as Questlove tweeted to her, "#HappyBdayAreatha she is the Queen PERIOD") today was chock-full of celebrity birthdays. Among the many stars celebrating their March 25th births was Katherine McPhee, who received plenty of Twitter love, including from actress Ashley Madekwe, who posted, "@katharinemcphee Happy Birthday lovely! xo." Katherine, who turned 27 today, wrote, "Thk u to everyone makin me feel real special! Love birthdays! & Love u all!" There was also some b-day love for Aly Michalka, including a tweet from her sis AJ Michalka, who told her, "Happy 22nd Birthday to my unbelievable sister...I could not love you more Aly..."
In addition to all these, there's also a "Twilight"-related birthday today! Kiowa Gordon, or as he's better known to Twi-hards, Embry Call, turned 21 and got a whole lot of well-wishes on the social networking site. It seems Kiowa (pictured) and his co-star Tinsel Korey were taking the wolf pack to Las Vegas for some celebrations, when she shared, "Happy 21st Birthday Precious!!! @Circakigordon See you tomorrow!!! #KGTKVegas2011BdayWknd." Here's hoping they run into "The Hangover" wolf pack!

Blake Lively may have dashed the hopes of aspiring Manhattanites and fashionistas everywhere by killing rumors that she'd be stepping into a young Carrie Bradshaw's stilettos in an adaptation of "The Carrie Diaries," but Carrie herself is reminding fans that she is still ready and willing to work it out on the big screen.
"I would go back," Sarah Jessica Parker told the L.A. Times' 24 Frames, while filming her newest project "I Don't Know How She Does It"—another adaptation of a successful novel—in New York. "I think there's one more story to tell. I know there is," she said.
But whether she wants to step into Carrie's Manolos again is one thing, and whether we're willing to sit through another two hours of lavish spending and somewhat tired characters is another. Fact: The series itself is untouchable; it's the gold standard when it comes to stories of single friends and their attempts at love, but after a lukewarm response to "Sex and the City 2," is there much interest in seeing a third installment?
