Phoebe Tonkinby Ryan J. Downey

We're finally going to get that crossover between "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Secret Circle," albeit not exactly in the way we'd imagined.

Next season on "The Vampire Diaries," the cast will be joined by Phoebe Tonkin, better known as fan-favorite bad-girl witch Faye from "The Secret Circle"! Phoebe will play a "free-spirited" and "extremely sexy" girl from Tyler's past named Hayley, according to E! Online. She's set to arrive in episode three.

"The Secret Circle" was cancelled after just one season, leaving all of us to wonder what might have happened when those other Blackwell kids showed up to town. Both shows have author L.J. Smith to thank for their source material and shared an executive producer in Kevin Williamson, who honed his horror chops and teen drama skills as the mastermind behind the "Scream" franchise and "Dawson's Creek."

We were pretty bummed when The CW didn't renew our favorite witchy drama, "The Secret Circle," for a second season. But it looks like at least one star will cast his spell in a brand-new role.

Chris Zylka, whom "TSC" fans will surely recognize as Cassie's neighbor Jake Armstrong, has joined the cast of "American Horror Story" for its second season. An achievement, girlfriend Lucy Hale couldn't help but celebrate on Twitter today.

We caught up with the actor at last night's "The Amazing Spider-Man" premiere (he plays bully Flash Thompson in the film), where Chris himself was breaking the news. "My dear friend and someone who has recently become a boss of mine, Ryan Murphy, is letting me announce tonight that I'm joining the cast of 'American Horror Story' next season, which I was so stoked about 'cause I'm a huge fan of the show," he told us.

It's a good day to be Carrie Bradshaw! "The Carrie Diaries" has officially been picked up by The CW and will be coming soon to a small screen near you, Deadline reports. The series follows a young Carrie through her trials and tribulations as a high school student in the 1980s. Similar to its more mature predecessor "Sex and the City," Carrie will ask questions about love, sex, friends and family. AnnaSophia Robb plays the titular aspiring writer while Chloe Bridges and Austin Butler co-star.

The closing scene of the season one finale of "The Secret Circle" really drove the episode's title home.

After the most action packed episode of the series run thus far—which saw the final revelation about Blackwell and the boat fire 16 years ago, the death of Eben at the hands of Jake, the restoration of witchy power to Charles and Dawn, the unbinding of the Circle, Charles becoming full of demons, all of the crew nearly burning alive, Cassie and Adam playing with darkness (did we mention it was action packed?)—season one drew to a close with a shot of three guys and a girl standing on a cliff overlooking Chance Harbor. Who were those four mysterious figures clad in the show's signature skinny black jeans? FOUR MORE BALCOIN KIDS!

Faye kidnapped by Eben! Nick sent back to the grave! The truth about Blackwell revealed to Diana and Cassie, the truth about Charles killing Cassie's mother revealed to Diana, a bit of history about Jake and Faye, plus time travel, flying cars, a junkyard battle and of course, the prom! The events of "Prom," the last episode of "The Secret Circle" before next week's sure-to-be-a-doozy season one finale, were action packed in the literal and emotional sense from start to finish.

In recent interviews with Hollywood Crush, both Chris Zylka (Jake) and Shelley Hennig (Diana) promised us that things would get crazy in "Prom" (and next week's "Family"), and they weren't kidding! The mistrust and tension developing between the half-sisterly duo of Cassie and her recently revealed Secret Sibling, Diana, is a bit of an echo of the battle the pair's mothers had over Blackwell back in the day. Blackwell disrupted their parents' Circle. In fact, he used magic to make sure all of the girls in the last Circle conceived with their boyfriends (holy teen pregnancy epidemic!) in addition to siring Cassie and Diana himself. We learned in an awesome bit of time travel that Cassie's mother really loved Adam's dad and more importantly, that Blackwell has plotted his control over the current Circle for 16 years!

Nick is back from the grave and his onscreen brother, played by Chris Zylka, promised "an emotional roller coaster" as "The Secret Circle" speeds closer to the season one finale with tonight's episode, "Prom." With the gang on the hunt for another crystal, there'll be more revelations about the events of 16 years ago which killed many of their parents (and what exactly John Blackwell's role in that was) and further developments with the witch hunters, the Blackwell sisters (!) and Jake's returned brother.

"Prom" airs tonight. The season one finale, "Family," will follow on May 10. Speaking to Hollywood Crush by phone on Wednesday, Chris assured us that nobody is safe. "There will be blood, there will be deaths," he said. "[The finale will feature] jaw-dropping, amazing cliffhangers for each character. Each character has a cliffhanger that could go either way. They could go dark, they could go good, they could totally run away."

If this show reveals any more secrets before the season finale, it may just have to change its name!

Last week, we learned that Diana is the Secret Sibling. On last night's new episode of "The Secret Circle," we got some majorly shocking news about another sibling from the Circle. Nick Armstrong, Cassie's old next door neighbor last seen possessed by a worm demon and being drowned by Charles, is alive!

During the closing moments of "The Secret Circle" last night, Diana and Cassie discovered that Jake's brother is the "Traitor" witch name-checked in the episode's title. He's the one who has been working against them with the witch hunters (and now working against the witch hunters, as well). As more pieces of Chance Harbor's history and John Blackwell's plan to finish what he started 16 years ago came to light, there were several confrontations: Diana confronting Charles, Diana confronting Cassie, and a super cool Charles vs. Blackwell throwdown in front of a crowd. Plus Jake and Faye made out (!) and Cassie kissed Adam (!!).

Shelley Hennigby Ryan J. Downey

Last week, "The Secret Circle" unwrapped one of the biggest surprises of the season: the identity of the other Blackwell in the crew.

Cassie Blake's half-sister is none other than her one-time romantic rival, Diana. Shelley Hennig couldn't be more pleased about the revelation surrounding her character. Speaking to Hollywood Crush by phone, she also revealed how pleased she is with our longstanding use of the phrase "The Secret Sibling" in our blog.

"I like how you worded that, 'The Secret Sibling,'" she said with a chuckle. "That's amazing.

"I found out [about the revelation] a few days before we started shooting," she explained. "It wasn't something that had been circulating with the cast. I was shocked but I also didn't believe it. I wasn't convinced, but I was super-excited. It wasn't until we were actually shooting it that I was like, 'All right, it's for real!' Because they'll change things. We'll get a script and then it'll be completely different the next day. I was excited to have that happen and also to see [where it's going to go]."

The Secret Sibling revealed! After a short hiatus, "The Secret Circle" returned to the airwaves last night with the show's biggest revelation since the return of John Blackwell. Isaac told Jake there was another Blackwell kicking around in his circle and "Crystal" wrapped up with Cassie Blake breathlessly coming to this realization about one of her friends: "You're my sister." Yep, the episode ended with those three words. And boy, was it powerful!

Throughout most of "Crystal," as the gang went on a quest to gather as many of the magical crystals possessed by their elder relatives as possible, all signs seemed to have pointed toward Faye. She does, after all, act like she's full of darkness. And early in the episode, as she rummaged through her house looking for a crystal with Melissa, she discovered her mother's journal, which dished all about a possible love affair with Cassie's dad back in the day. At one point she even threw herself in front of a speeding motorcycle (more on that later) in an attempt to trigger any latent dark magic within her. But the real Secret Sibling turned out to be somebody who used to fashion herself as the de facto leader of the crew (and keeper of their moral compass) until she spent most of "Crystal" wanting out: Diana!

Cassie and Adam are so committed to the Secret Circle they were willing to swallow a magical elixir they knew would wipe away their romance in order to save Jake, who they just found out is (or at least, was) a killer. While it was incredibly sad, tragic and noble of them, it was all for naught, because:

They were being played! By John Blackwell!

Yes, the "Curse" from which last night's episode of "The Secret Circle" took its name was all a lie concocted by none other than Cassie's father, John Blackwell. Turns out Mr. "I don't use or have my dark magic anymore" Blackwell is very much in possession of enough magic to make Jake very sick, manipulate Jane's memories (poor Jane and the constant monkeying with her mind by basically everyone over the age of 18!), kill a bunch of birds and cause Adam to fall out of love with Cassie. Blackwell may look cool as a cucumber as he's constantly popping that collar, but he's been up to no good and spreading lies all around town.
