Blake Lively may have dashed the hopes of aspiring Manhattanites and fashionistas everywhere by killing rumors that she'd be stepping into a young Carrie Bradshaw's stilettos in an adaptation of "The Carrie Diaries," but Carrie herself is reminding fans that she is still ready and willing to work it out on the big screen.
"I would go back," Sarah Jessica Parker told the L.A. Times' 24 Frames, while filming her newest project "I Don't Know How She Does It"—another adaptation of a successful novel—in New York. "I think there's one more story to tell. I know there is," she said.
But whether she wants to step into Carrie's Manolos again is one thing, and whether we're willing to sit through another two hours of lavish spending and somewhat tired characters is another. Fact: The series itself is untouchable; it's the gold standard when it comes to stories of single friends and their attempts at love, but after a lukewarm response to "Sex and the City 2," is there much interest in seeing a third installment?

With 2011 mere heartbeats away, we couldn't help but reminisce about our favorite portrayals of New Year's Eve on the silver screen. Cinematically, the New Year is a symbol for new beginnings, as exemplified by our top five NYE moments below. If your plans are more of the cuddle-by-the-fire than shimmy-at-the-club variety, consider popping one of these faves into your DVD player to appropriately say sayonara to 2010.
Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens in "High School Musical"
Our favorite Disney couple, Troy (Zac Efron) and Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens), meets at a New Year’s Eve party. They're both tentative when the host picks them for karaoke, but by the end of "Start of Something New," it's obvious these two lovebirds were made to sing and dance together. Oh, Zac and Vanessa, "Get'cha Head in the Game" and get back together!
Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet in "A Lot Like Love"
After meeting on a plane (and joining the mile high club), Emily (Amanda Peet) calls Oliver (Ashton Kutcher) in a bout of New Year's Eve loneliness. Thus begins a long-distance friendship that develops into true love. Aww!

New Year’s Eve brings so much to look forward to, from those oh-so-decorative glasses to acknowledging your New Year’s resolution doesn’t start just quite yet. But, let’s face it, nothing trumps a perfect New Year’s kiss at midnight. So while you plan on you who’ll pucker up with for January 1, 2010 we decided to take a look back at who had the best NYE smooches on the big and small screen.

Kim Cattrall and Jason Lewis in “Sex and the City: The Movie”
It wasn’t the happiest of New Year’s Eves’ for the entire “SATC” gang (Carrie was still heartbroken over Big, Miranda and Steve still weren’t back together), Samantha (Kim Cattrall) and Smith (Jason Lewis) spent a romantic and low-key NYE together. Adorned in matching sparkly robes and accompanied by their, er, eager pup, the two exchange gifts and kisses set to Mairi Campbell & Dave Francis’ beautiful take on “Auld Lang Syne.”

Slip on your Manolos and grab a Cosmo, girls, because the first "Sex and the City 2" trailer is here! The nearly minute-and-a-half trailer reveals few plot points, but the sequel looks like another fun- and fashion-filled romp, centering around a girlfriend getaway to the desert.
The trailer (see it after the jump!) opens with quick shots of New York City accompanied by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' seriously apropos hit "Empire State of Mind." "It's been two years and in two years, amazing things can happen," purrs Sarah Jessica Parker. Cut to Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) sauntering down a Big Apple sidewalk, Charlotte (Kristin Davis) baking cupcakes with her 2-year-old daughter Rose and Samantha (Kim Cattrall) doing something at what appears to be a wedding (the rumored Stanford Blatch-Anthony Marantino nuptials, perhaps?).

Any true "Sex and the City" fan knows that Carrie's got two great loves: Big and Aiden. Now, if you watched the first movie (if you didn't, you're not even close to being a true fan!), then you're already caught up on the fact that Carrie and Big finally tie the knot. That's right, Carrie got the closet and the man! Of course, nothing is ever so simple when it comes the "SATC" girls, and when we heard there was a sequel coming, we had to wonder, what's going to happen to the newlyweds next?
A fight? A child? Or maybe, just maybe … Aiden! John Corbett, who played Carrie's ex, was spotted in Morocco during the filming of "SATC 2". Hmm … a little too convenient don't you think?

Miley Cyrus has been making quite an impression on some big names lately. The young starlet most recently met the Queen of England, and worked with Timbaland, who dubbed her as a"female Justin Timberlake". Now, she's also got Sarah Jessica Parker raving.
Miley impressed SJP, who happened to be on set, when she came in to film her brief cameo for "Sex and the City 2," which she said was "a total dream come true," alongside Kim Cattrall.
But it wasn't just Miley's acting chops that surprised the SATC vet.

The one and only fashionista is back at it again. With her new movie "Did You Hear About the Morgans?" and highly anticipated "Sex and the City: The Movie 2" coming soon, Sarah Jessica Parker has a lot on her mind, including her new twin girls. But she still is finding the time to talk about her role as Carrie and give tips on fashion and relationships in Glamour’s January 2010 issue.
Since "Sex and the City" started in 1998, it has been giving us ladies tips on how to live the fabulous single life in the big city, how to decode men's brains and how to deal with major heartbreak. Last year's movie continued that tradition, but SJP said the sequel won't be nearly as serious. "The first movie had a lot of sadness in it, and it was very brave about breaking the rules of romantic comedy," she told the mag. "This one is very much the antidote for that: It’s a romp. It’s about the idea of women’s and men’s roles in marriage, and old traditions versus new ones. The story is really fun, but it’s also about something."

Much like Miley Cyrus' cameo in the sequel to "Sex and the City: The Movie" was once one a big mystery, we've now unearthed details about another thespian's (this time it's an Academy Award winner!) guest stint.
In October, People reported that Penelope Cruz would be appearing in the film (which is slated to be released in 2010) as a banker, and while we can't exactly confirm if her financial abilities are going to be highlighted, we can shed more light on the logistics behind her part. "I'm in it for very, very little time," she told MTV News during a press event for her next film "Nine." "It's a collaboration that I did because I am a huge fan of the show and the movie and Sarah Jessica Parker."

Carrie Bradshaw did Paris with The Russian. The girls all did Mexico together. And, now it seems they're expanding their taste for international travel by shooting in Morocco. The rumors have been out there for a while that Carrie and the ladies would head off the very exotic locale of Morocco for the "Sex and the City" movie sequel. And, new photos prove those rumors to be true.
Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon were both seen on the set in the African country. SJP was rocking a J'adore Dior t-shirt, ball gown-like lavender and gray skirt and pink heels. While, Cynthia was spotted looking chic in all white: blazer, full-length dress, fedora and beige sandals. Tres chic! Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis were not seen on set. But, recently Kristin hinted to MTV News (see the video after the jump!) that she would be heading to Africa with the ladies, while choosing not to elaborate about why they were heading off there in the first place.
