Since her inspired appearance at this year's Costume Institute Gala, we've been seeing Ashley Greene in a whole new light. We're not sure what changed, but the girl's been on a role with her style lately—just check out her looks below at the premiere (and after-party) for her new movie '80s-set flick, "Skateland." In the movie, Ash dons a whole lot of "groovy" outfits (see what she told us about her '80s style), but her ensembles last night were anything but a throwback.

Ashley stepped out to the red carpet premiere in a loose fitting, pink gown that was belted at the waist. While some people might say the dress was a little underwhelming (we admit it could have used a little bling), we thought the simple style looked beautiful on her, and we loved the contrast between the light color of her dress and her dark wavy hair.

Bye-bye, Forks. On Friday, fans of "Breaking Dawn" actress Ashley Greene will see the star in a whole new "Twilight" light, when her coming-of-age, '80s-set flick "Skateland" opens. In the drama, Ashley plays love interest to Shiloh Fernandez's conflicted Ritchie, who faces some life-changing decisions when the skating rink he works at closes. The role is definitely a departure for the actress, both thematically (no vampires here!) and sartorially.

When we talked to the 24-year-old recently, she made it clear that she won't be stealing her character's look anytime soon. "I like incorporating '80s pieces into my wardrobe but not the whole look in general," she said with a laugh. "It's a little extreme. But I had fun with it. I think this film was the the chance to really embrace it and go for it. So I was talking to wardrobe and talking about pieces and was like, 'Yeah, let's totally do it.' But I wouldn't rock the whole look on an everyday basis."

The cast of "Twilight" must be some of the busiest actors in Hollywood. Despite a relentlessly busy schedule filming the franchise's installments nearly back-to-back, almost all of our favorite supernatural sensations are moonlighting gigs in other projects. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have already upped their respective cred in dramas like "Water for Elephants" and "The Runaways," and Taylor Lautner is slated to go all leading man on us in "Abduction," out later this year. But now it's Ashley Greene's turn to ditch her Cullen persona in favor of some indie fare.
In "Skateland" (opening May 13), Ashley stars opposite Shiloh Fernandez in a fun, coming-of-age story about how a group of friends deal with growing up and the demise of their local skating rink (the film is set in the early 1980s so the skating rink as the local hangout thing makes more sense...). And guess what!?! We nabbed an EXCLUSIVE scene from the film.
In one of the movie's more contemplative scenes, Ashley's go-getter character Michelle discusses the future with longtime friend/potential love interest Ritchie, played by Shiloh. (It's a moment much less precognitive than we're used to in "Twilight," to be sure.)
Are you excited for "Skateland"? Will you be seeing it when it comes to theaters next week? Tell us in the comments and on Twitter!

It's no surprise Ashley Greene looks like a natural in her floral-print retro bikini and tie sweater on the cover of Glamour's latest issue—she did start her career as a model, after all! Ashley shares May cover duties with fellow starlets Emma Stone and Freida Pinto, and inside the issue, the "Skateland" star dishes about her career, her charity work and boyfriend Joe Jonas (yes, her interview was conducted before the split. Eek!)
Though she's long past her vogueing days and has found major success with the "Twilight" franchise, Ashley confessed that she still feels unsure about her acting chops sometimes. "I still am extremely green in some ways," she admitted. "And so each time I work on a character it is very exciting, very scary." Then there's always the problem of typecasting. "It is difficult because people look at you as the character," she added. Let’s hope they don’t think she’s really a vampire!

Robert Pattinson who? Sure, it's hard to imagine anyone else in the role of our favorite sexy "Twilight" vamp, but looking at these steamy photos of almost-Edward Cullen Shiloh Fernandez, it's hard not to wonder what if. The 25-year-old "Skateland" star is featured in the upcoming issue of VMAN magazine on stands February 10, and he dished all about the "Twilight" role that got away.
"No one had any idea what 'Twilight' would become," Shiloh explained. "At the time, it was just another audition. I didn't realize I was missing out on stardom and giant paychecks." Yet, the actor is self-aware enough to admit that starring in one of the world's biggest phenomenons may not have suited him. "Now, looking back on it, I certainly wouldn't have been mentally stable enough to deal with all that," he said. "Lucky for me, not getting that part led to other work that was a much better fit for me."

Have you ever wondered what a teenage existential crisis would look like... on wheels? Well, wonder no more! Thanks to "Skateland," the angsty indie darling that got plenty of buzz during last year's Sundance Film Festival, we'll have a chance to watch one unfold this spring. And we've got an EXCLUSIVE look at the trailer!
Opening March 25, the movie features some familiar faces: Shiloh Fernandez (also known as the smoldering hottie from upcoming film "Red Riding Hood") as a 19-year-old roller rink manager who's suddenly confronted with The Rest of His Life, and Ashley Greene (why yes, that is Alice Cullen from "Twilight") as his frustrated love interest.

It may have taken a while to happen, but now the "Breaking Dawn" casting news is coming fast and furiously. Summit Entertainment must have been working hard at keeping this one covered up, because today The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog announced that the entire Denali coven has been cast.
This fleshes out the news from earlier this week that "Lost" star Maggie Grace had been cast as Irina, the rebel from within the Denali coven's ranks. The actors cast as Eleazar, Carmen, Tanya and Kate are relatively unknown, but are sure to be catapulted into fame thanks to their involvement in "The Twilight Saga."

It's about time that Ashley Greene's "Skateland" got a theatrical trailer since we've been hearing good things about this film since SXSW earlier this year. Though the tale is familiar — a teen/20-something is forced into adulthood because of an end of an era — what we've seen in the trailer that debuted over the weekend is that "Skateland" looks fun and enjoyable enough to get us into theaters to watch a familiar tale.
The second Ashley gets out of her ultra-white "Twilight" make-up and golden contacts, we love the way her acting warms up. She really seems like she has room to breathe in this film, and, based on what we've seen in this trailer, is immensely likeable. We're not too sure about her chemistry with leading man Shiloh Fernandez (other than a few intimate scenes, there wasn't too much between them in the trailer), but the film seems like it's more about him growing up than about his romance with Ashley's character.

It was pretty exciting when we found out last month that Amanda Seyfried was confirmed for the lead role in Catherine Hardwicke's "The Girl With The Red Riding Hood." It's Catherine's biggest project since "Twilight,", and it seems fitting that Amanda (considered one of the next big thing's in Hollywood alongside Kristen Stewart) would be cast as the lead.
Earlier this week, The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog finally gave us the name of the man who will be starring opposite her. Shiloh Fernandez will play an orphaned woodcutter who will become the romantic interest of Amanda's character.

Ashley Greene spent the early part of the week in Austin, partying it up at the South By Southwest (SXSW) film festival to debut her new film, "Skateland." She took the time to chat with MTV News and explain the film for those of us at home who think it's only about rollerskating.
"It's set in Texas in the 1980s and it's basically a coming-of-age story of Ritchie Wheeler, who Shiloh Fernandez plays, but also my character, Michelle Burkham, and my brother Brent [played by Heath Freeman]," she explained. "There's a place called Skateland that closes and it's something that we all go to and we all kind of relate to and see ourselves around and we're used to having this and it's kind of ripped away and so it kind of jumpstarts us realizing that there's a lot of things we have to figure out."
