If you thought you caught a moment of the macabre in Taylor Swift's new video for "Safe & Sound," you're dead right: turns out, a healthy part of the filming process took place in a historic cemetery. (Hey, "dead right"! Get it? Get it?! ...Ow, stop hitting us!) And when Taylor sat down for a chat with MTV, she was quick to tell us how meaningful that graveyard scene was.
"That's one of my favorite moments in the video," she said. "There's this wide shot where I'm just crumpled up, sitting on a gravestone. And it's actually the grave site of a couple who lived, and died, in 1853."

Take a good look, "Hunger Games" fans, because the playlist that'll make your life is officially here! The rundown of tracks from the "The Hunger Games" companion album has been released, and with a lineup of amazing songs by incredible artists, there's no doubt that this musical medley from District 12 (out March 20) will be on continuous playback just as soon as we can get our hands on it.
As expected, we've got a clear country influence at work in the music from the movie: the album is bursting with twang! We already knew we'd be hearing from Taylor Swift and Neko Case, The Secret Sisters and Arcade Fire, but there are a couple names that weren't leaked in advance—Kid Cudi, Miranda Lambert and even an appearance by noted Appalachian folksters the Carolina Chocolate Drops. And with the full track list just below, feel free to get guessing about which part of the story inspired these song titles! The album lineup is as follows:

It was hard to think about anything last night but the haunting, gorgeous debut of Taylor Swift's "Safe & Sound" video...but somewhere in between watching that amazing end-of-the-world lullaby on continuous repeat, MTV did find the time to chat with Taylor herself about the process of penning the song and about the books that started it all. And one of the best questions came straight from a fan on Twitter, who asked: What would Taylor's strategy be if she found herself in the real-life "Hunger Games"?
Turns out, Taylor is just like all the rest of us in that she's already asked herself the same question plenty of times: "I've thought about this, because reading the books, you're so sucked into it that as you go about your life," she said. "You sit there, and you're like, 'Could I climb that tree?' 'Could I make a weapon out of this?' 'If I had to forage for food, what would I do?'"

It's time to enter the Arena with Taylor Swift. The country cutie is here at MTV to premiere the music video for her "Hunger Games" soundtrack song, "Safe and Sound," a soulful, melancholy collaboration with The Civil Wars (co-written with score producer T-Bone Burnett).
But the first look at the clip isn't all we have in store tonight. Following the sneak peek, the songstress will be hanging out with our own Sway Calloway for 30 minutes to answer your burning questions about all things Panem, her upcoming projects and more!
It all catches fire at 7:54 p.m. ET. So grab a hunk of Peeta bread to nibble on, take a seat and click play at the golden hour to be "Safe and Sound" with Taylor Swift.

Bittersweet memories are all we're taking with us after last night's Grammy Awards...well, okay, bittersweet memories and one serious scrapbook of photos from the star-studded evening. Our favorite celebs were out in droves at the music industry's biggest awards show, to celebrate some well-deserved wins, cheer each other on in pitch-perfect performances and remember the gone-too-soon Whitney Houston.
Among the gallery of great moments from the show is Taylor Swift, who stood at the summit of a country prop mountain for her amazing performance of "Mean," after getting a great introduction from The Civil Wars (and just one day before premiering their "Safe and Sound" music video right here on MTV tonight!). And that was just the start of an emotional rollercoaster of an evening; there was some serious happiness on display from Adele, who flashed a beautiful smile as she took home the awards for Best Song, Best Pop Performance and Album of the Year...and some definite sads to be had following Jennifer Hudson's heartbreaking tribute to Whitney. (What? No, we're not crying, we just have something in our eye.)

Taylor Swift is making herself right at home in District 12. Or at least that's how it looks after previewing a sneak peek of the country cutie's music video for "Safe and Sound," a collaboration with The Civil Wars that will appear on "The Hunger Games" soundtrack (out March 20).
If you haven't heard, the songstress is stopping by MTV on Monday to debut the full-length clip, as well as sit down with our man Sway Calloway for a 30-minute interview in which she'll talk about the single, her future projects and much more. But in the meantime, feast on this bite, which finds Taylor, clothed in a simple white frock, walking through a barren forest (it's so Panem!), while The Civil Wars play inside a fire-lit cabin.

Dystopian fiction fans and country music enthusiasts alike, get ready to mark your calendars for next Monday night: Taylor Swift is headed our way on the evening of February 13, when she'll be settling down in our studios for an MTV First chat about her latest projects...and the big event is kicking off with the live, EXCLUSIVE debut of her video for "Safe and Sound," the lead single on "The Hunger Games" soundtrack (which comes out March 20).

Our teensy sneak peek at a single still from the video looks promising: We've got Taylor wearing white, looking downtrodden, and moping her way through a quiet woodland setting which echoes the Appalachian forest landscape of the film's District 12 (and which is hopefully not "The Hunger Games" arena, because we'd hate to see her pretty white dress get all covered in MURDER). And if you want to see it first, then don't miss the chance to tune in, because not only are we getting the hotly anticipated clip a full six minutes before it airs anywhere else (U JELUS GUYZ?), we'll also have EXCLUSIVE teaser content and some insidery info about the song itself.

It’s even scarier than Voldemort: Daniel Radcliffe’s first post-"Potter" film, "The Woman in Black," opens today, and we’re all pretty psyched for the dark drama. Even the spooky rhyming commercial advertisements are terrifying—there is going to be some serious watching-between-your-fingers, feet-up-on-the-chair action going on in theaters. But while Daniel may appear terrified of the "Woman in Black," we know a few women in black who are anything but frightening. We've rounded up some of our favorite celebrity fashionistas, who show us that basic black is sexy—not scary. See our entire gallery by clicking on the image below!
From Angelina Jolie’s iconic dominatrix-inspired leather ensemble to Lucy Hale and Selena Gomez’s recent playful cut outs, these starlets are conjuring up plenty of accolades. Even sparkle and fun country cutie Taylor Swift knows that when you want to go high glam, you go with black, as she did in a dramatic gown with a plunging neckline during the 2009 Grammy festivities. Then there's perennial red-carpet darling Lea Michele, who may be known for her bold fashion choices but couldn't resist the lure of becoming a woman in black when she slipped on a lace design with a sheer overlay, perfectly modeling a Karl Lagerfeld number during Paris Fashion Week—so incredibly chic.

If things seem a little empty around here, it's because MTV News has left the building.. and arrived at the Sundance Film Festival to hob, nob and generally get acquainted with this year's best under-the-radar and indie flicks. And like all good friends on vacation, we've got a great set of picture-postcards to say "Wish you were here!" with our flipbook of celeb sightings from industry talks and premieres alike.
Among the folks you can spy in our gallery: Emma Roberts, whose performance in "Celeste and Jesse Forever" has everyone anxious to see the film, and Ryan Kwanten, who popped up in the T-Mobile Google Music Village and happily took photos with a fan or two. Elizabeth Olsen was spotted at the premiere of her new movie "Red Lights"—making her an established darling of the indie circuit after her buzzworthy attendance at Cannes—with a bulky jacket and bundled scarf to keep out the chill. And also in attendance: Taylor Swift! The singer popped up at the "Ethel" premiere thanks to her new friendship with filmmaker Rory Kennedy, and the two were photographed together at a dinner and discussion event later that evening.

It's a tale as old as time, yet one we never tire of. Twenty years after its debut, Disney is re-releasing a 3D version of its classic "Beauty and the Beast," meaning a whole new generation will have "Be Our Guest" stuck in their heads for the next five weeks or so.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, we decided to fawn over a few of our favorite beauties and their beasts. Because little else tugs at the heartstrings as tightly as a pretty person holding an equally adorable animal. There's songstress Taylor Swift and her cuddly kitty, Meredith, (named after a certain dramatic doc on "Grey's Anatomy"), Selena Gomez and her precious puppy, Baylor, (which she adopted with BF Justin Bieber) and Katy Perry and her similarly named feline, Kitty Purry.
