For a morning that was an all-Robert Pattinson fest (hey, not a bad way to start the day!) Dakota Fanning and Taylor Lautner (who was on "Late Night") opted to take the night shift on the talk show circuit on “New Moon” eve. So, for those of you who were waiting (im)patiently in line for the midnight showings, I’m here to catch you up on what you missed.
Dakota stopped by “The Jay Leno Show” to chat about “Twilight” madness (among other things) but before she hit the stage, there was a “New Moon” treat for viewers. Jay sent staffer sent Mickey Day to the L.A. premiere (lucky!) to report from the scene and gather all the information he would need to make his very own “Twilight” sequel. Mickey soon hit the red carpet to talk to the cast, beginning with an un-PC question to Taylor, asking “How does it feel to have brought millions of girls into puberty?” The always gentlemanly Taylor responded with a simple, “I think it’s the series and the characters.”

Kristen Stewart made two stops this morning on the New York City-based talk show circuit, with appearances on both "Today" (pictured) and "Live with Regis and Kelly." In addition to answering the usual "Twilight" mania and "New Moon" setup questions, the actress also talked about playing Joan Jett, indie movies, and made a definitive decision in the Team Jacob versus Team Edward debate. Reiterating the stance she took when speaking with MTV News at the "New Moon" press junket a couple of weeks ago, Kristen told Regis and Kelly that she'd side with the vampire.
Because she's probably had to do this about a gazillion times already, Kristen had her "New Moon" summary down pat. "The really perfect love that we've presented in the first one is completely shattered," she said on "Regis and Kelly" (her outfit? a brown sweater dress). "[Bella's] best friend is a werewolf and her boyfriend is a vampire and they don't like each other very much... She discovers there are different levels of loving someone."

While all the "New Moon" stars strutted their glory at the L.A. premiere last night, one surprise red carpet appearance was Joan Jett of Joan Jett and the Blackhearts fame. Kristen Stewart will be portraying Joan in the upcoming film "The Runaways" (which also stars Dakota Fanning), and after working with Kristen on the film, Joan couldn't resist coming to the premiere.
"I'd obviously heard about ['Twilight'], but before she was cast as me, I hadn't seen it," Joan told MTV News' Larry Carroll on the red carpet at the "New Moon" L.A. premiere. "Of course, when she was cast as me, I wanted to see the movie, and I've seen everything she's done. I really enjoyed it. I thought it was really entertaining, and I'm excited that she was cast as me in 'The Runaways.'"

As if winning the coveted title of high school homecoming princess wasn't enough of an accomplishment for a 15-year-old girl, now Dakota Fanning can also boast getting the December cover of Teen Vogue. The former child star (who looks all grown up now), opened up to the magazine about starring in "New Moon" and the darker flick "Runaways," bonding with co-star Kristen Stewart in both films and transitioning into the role of an adult actress.
Dakota, who has been in the industry since she was 5 and worked with the likes of Denzel Washington and Tom Cruise, said she chose to join the cast of "New Moon," where she plays a member of the powerful Volturi clan, simply because it "sounded like fun." The added perk? She ended up becoming good friends with Kristen.
"We became really close," Dakota said. "Like we'd known each other for our whole lives. We talk all the time."

Changes are afoot in Forks, Washington and come November 20, we'll all have front row seats to the drama—and I'm not just talking about vanishing vampire boyfriends and shapeshifting best friends. According to "New Moon" star Kristen Stewart, alter ego Bella Swan may be the one growing the most.
"The movie takes a downturn," Kristen told Allure in a behind-the-scenes interview for her November cover story. "In the first one, it was all about discovery and in this one, Bella matures quite a bit."

Ever wondered what it would be like to hang out in Times Square with Steve Carell and Tina Fey? Or ride the subway with Jennifer Aniston? Or sneak a peek at the offices of "The Office"? In the current issue of Entertainment Weekly, the mag went on the set of 36 movie and television shows to snap behind-the-scenes pics and dish with Hollywood's finest including Joan Jett on location of Kristen Stewart's "The Runaways" (KStew is pictured with director Floria Sigismondi below in a photo from the EW issue, which is out this week) and the adorable Sarah Jessica Parker and Hugh Grant on the set of "Did You Hear About The Morgans?"
If you've been keeping up with "Runaways" gossip, you know Joan Jett was a constant fixture on the set—it is her biopic after all! But watching Kristen and her fellow "New Moon" costar Dakota Fanning channel her and her '70s girl group was an unusual experience for the music legend. "It's really hard to put exact words on it beyond saying it’s surreal,” Joan explained.

You may have thought that "The Runaways" had completed their band's lineup when they finally cast Scout Taylor-Compton as Lita Ford, but there was still one piece missing — the girl who didn't become a Runaway: bass player Micki Steele.
Well, reportedly Floria Sigismondi’s biopic has found its bass player ... but it won't be the real life Steele. According to the Latino Review, Alia Shawkat ("Arrested Development") has joined the band as fictional band member Robin. Read more...
FROM MTV.COM: Not only has Kristen Stewart embraced the role of Joan Jett by dying her hair black and cutting it into a mullet for her role in the upcoming film "The Runaways," now she's been spotted at a Los Angeles studio with Runaways founding member Joan Jett.
The duo — along with Stewart's "New Moon"/ "Runaways" castmate Dakota Fanning — hit Sunset Sound studios on Monday, where they were recording for the biopic, about the seminal all-teen-female 1970s rock band of the same name. While the Runaways, founded by Jett in 1975, never achieved large-scale commercial success, they were a galvanizing force on the Los Angeles punk scene, not to mention the first widely recognized all-female teen rock group and the spawning ground for the subsequent solo careers of Jett and guitarist Lita Ford.

All that vampire romance in “Twilight” and “New Moon” has evidently pushed Kristen Stewart over the edge. She’s shredded up and dyed her hair to star in the new Joan Jett biopic “The Runaways” and seems to be slipping comfortably into the dark and dangerous look.
Stewart is currently filming “The Runaways” in Los Angeles with co-star Dakota Fanning, who will hopefully also go off the fashionable deep end to come out to the world as an adolescent. The movie, tagged for a 2010 release, features the pair of actresses as Jett and Cherie Currie, who formed their landmark all-girl band in the 1970s and went on to inspire bands from Blondie and Garbage to Bikini Kill and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
