Our little Gabriella is all grown up! Vanessa Hudgens is 23 today, and we brainstormed a lot of ways to celebrate. We thought about turning our fave Zac Efron poster into a dartboard (but, c'mon, he's just too pretty to deface). We contemplated hosting a "High School Musical" sing-off. We even considered attempting to escape an insane asylum with our lingerie-clad friends. But birthdays aren’t about dwelling on the past. They’re about looking ahead, so we’re celebrating Vanessa’s big 2-3 by listing the top reasons why this year is going to be her best yet.

Selena Gomez is poised for a big 2012. After wrapping up a year that left the teen superstar "humbled," she’s readying several important roles for the new year. She’ll become a big sister (an announcement she made on Twitter over Thanksgiving weekend), and she’ll also hit the set for her film "Spring Breakers."

So far, Selena’s work has been more in the world of tween-friendly comedies, but “Spring Breakers” will deviate from that winning formula. Directed by Harmony Korine (the man behind the super-dark, '90s classic, “Kids”), the film will revolve around a group of college girls who rob a restaurant to pay for their spring break. When they land in jail, a drug and arms dealer bails them out, and they quickly become entangled with him. Yeah, this isn’t “Monte Carlo.” James Franco, Vanessa Hudgens and Emma Roberts are also attached to the project.

Have you noticed that Emma Stone is everywhere? She popped up (as a blond!) in the new "The Amazing Spider-Man" trailer. She hit the "Friends With Benefits" red carpet in eye-catching hot pink and red alongside Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake on Monday night. Oh, and did we mention that she also stars in next week’s "Crazy, Stupid, Love" with Hollywood Crush favorite Ryan Gosling? As if we didn’t have enough reasons to hate love her, Emma graced that red carpet in one of her best looks ever. For this reason, after two consecutive weeks of recognizing Emma Watson as our Style Superstar, this week we bestow the honor to another Emma: Ms. Emma Stone! Keep reading to learn about her prize-winning ensemble.

Despite the heat wave, Emma was flawlessly fashionable at the New York City "Crazy, Stupid, Love" premiere Tuesday night. Her black lace Tom Ford dress is perfectly on trend for fall 2011. While we don’t recommend angular hip accents for the average girl, Emma carries the outfit remarkably well. A velvet bow, red lips and sleekly styled hair keep the look elegant. And Ryan Gosling as arm candy? Yup, that’s always in style! As her star meter keeps rising, we can't wait to see what she'll wear next.

Though photos of a "made-under" Vanessa Hudgens just recently surfaced online, the starlet has actually been sporting her choppy, blunt haircut for nearly two months while filming the teen pregnancy drama "Gimme Shelter."

"I cut it off as soon as I started the film which was about two months ago," Vanessa said when we caught up with her recently at a Neutrogena Wave for Change event, just days after she wrapped filming. "We've been shooting in the middle of nowhere, in some pretty hood areas—abandoned hospitals—so it took a while for the paparazzi to figure out where I was, which I am very thankful about."

For her upcoming role in the drama "Gimme Shelter," Vanessa Hudgens will don a belly (of the pregnant variety, not beer) to portray a teen who's shunned by her father and left living on the streets. It's a gritty part, for sure, one that might need a bit of a palate cleanser afterward. Like, perhaps, a role on everyone's favorite musical dramedy?

When we caught up with the 22-year-old at the Cannes Film Festival last week, we asked—given her song and dance history on Disney's "High School Musical"—if she'd ever be interested in a cameo on "Glee."

"I totally would," she replied enthusiastically. "I'm all for musicals. I love what they're doing. But I'm very go-with-the-flow, so if it happens, awesome."

We think it should happen and, in fact, to help out busy creator Ryan Murphy, we've even thought up a few potential cameos. Check out our ideas after the jump and chime in with your own suggestions in the comments section!

Over the weekend, celebrities of all sorts settled into the uncomfortably warm temperatures of India, California, to check out buzz bands and headlining acts at the Coachella music festival, where artists like Arcade Fire, Kanye West, Kings of Leon and The Strokes took the stage. The event also gave celebrities the opportunity to don their best desert wear, which with temperatures into the 100s, was focused on cool and comfortable.

Lea Michele went short and sweet in her little, stripped polo dress, while Katy Perry went pinup chic in her big, white glasses and black and red checker print top. Rihanna wore her bright red hair big and loose and paired her denim shorts with a black tank and military jacket.

After breakaway success with his documentary "Never Say Never," Justin Bieber is in talks to return to the big screen—this time opposite Ashton Kutcher. According to the Los Angeles Times, "What Would Kenny Do?" is a buddy comedy in which Justin would play the 17-year-old version of Ashton's character. If the project goes forward, it probably won't hit theaters for a while (Justin is touring through 2012), so we here at Hollywood Crush thought we'd pass the time with a little daydreaming about other stars we'd love to see team up for some quality time.

What kinds of movies might some of our favorites team to make? We take a look (by which, of course, we mean "completely fabricate") at some possible upcoming box office hits.

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with staff members. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

Vanessa Hudgens may have declared her "single" status on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" last week, but we spotted Vanessa out last night with Josh Hutcherson looking very friendly. She and her "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" co-star were seen leaning in for some close conversation all throughout the game, and when they weren't getting cozy, they were jumping up and fist pumping—"Jersey Shore" style—cheering on their favorite team.

Josh showed his support in a black Lakers cap, and Vanessa declared her team spirit in a "Lakers are for Lovers" T-shirt. V: Who would these "Lovers" you're referring to be?

Moviegoers will be in for one heck of a crazy ride this weekend when they finally get to see Zack Snyder's mind-bending, visually arresting action-adventure flick, "Sucker Punch."

The film's female-dominated cast, which includes Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Vanessa Hudgens, Jamie Chung and Jena Malone, found themselves—and their characters—in some rather outrageous situations. After all, the movie does take place in an alternate universe where the laws of serious butt-kicking know no boundaries.

MTV News caught up with the gutsy gals of "Sucker Punch," and each one of them recalled to us which crazy scene in the movie was their favorite to film.

Vanessa, who plays the character Blondie, chose the scene in which she's on a B-25 bomber plane "being chased by a dragon and shooting at it." As she said with a giggle, "It's pretty intense."

For Vanessa's co-star Jena Malone (Rocket) it was a "really fun green screen moment where I was being lowered upside down on the harness, 40 feet in the air." In addition to hanging upside down, Jena was shooting at robots, all while doing flips. "It was fun," she explained.

Zack Snyder's fevered action-fantasy film "Sucker Punch," which follows five fierce ladies as they battle otherworldly demon armies and struggle to escape a mental asylum, opens today...and if you wanted to describe our state of mind as "pee-in-your-pantaloons PSYCHED," you wouldn't be wrong! But while we excitedly wait to queue up to see Baby Doll (Emily Browning), Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish), Rocket (Jena Malone), Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens) and Amber (Jamie Chung) kicking butts and taking names, we're bringing you an awesome behind-the-scenes look at all the Sucker Punch-ees who didn't make the film's final cut.

(And by "behind-the-scenes look," we mean "completely fabricated shenanigans from the depths of our twisted minds.")

What might a fuller "Sucker Punch" cast have looked like? Which characters got left on the cutting-room floor? Why don't badgers make better superheroes?! Well, gird your loins, and behold the not-quite-up-to-snuff-ness of...
