Apparently November is the month of multiple-actress magazine covers. Elle recently revealed five different covers for its "Women of Hollywood" issue featuring Katie Holmes, Emily Blunt, Julianne Moore, Renee Zellwegger and Zoe Saldana. Now Vogue is getting in on the act with its November issue, which stars the actresses of the movie musical "Nine." Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz and Kate Hudson take a walk on a Malibu beach for legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz, festooned in varying shades of plum and burgundy for the pretty cover shot.
The film, which also stars Daniel Day-Lewis, Sophia Lauren, Judi Dench and Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson, is based on the Broadway production of the same name (itself a take off of the 1963 Fellini film "8 1/2"). The story centers around Guido Contini (Daniel), a famous film director who struggles to juggle all the women in his life (think: wife, mistress, muse, agent and mother).

I didn't know if I could keep it all together."

Surrounded by designers like Jean-Paul Gaultier, Karl Lagerfeld (pictured with Anna), Thakoon (who compares her to Madonna!) and Vera Wang, as well as colleagues like editor-at-large André Leon Talley, the trailer for "September Issue" isn't just the "Devil Wears Prada" version of Anna (although she does say ridiculous things like, "This type seems so large and pretentious. It looks like it's for blind people."), it also shows how truly powerful she is, sometimes even with a smile on her face. Let's face it, when you can tell legendary designer Oscar de la Renta what clothes you think shouldn't be on his runway, you deserve to be applauded. Read more...
