Summer is so close we can almost taste it and some of our favorite musical masters—including Britney Spears and Avril Lavigne (pictured)—are gearing up to hit the road for headlining tours. Britney fans should get their credit cards ready for the Ticketmaster stake out. The singer announced pre-sale today, with general tickets available May 7. "Today's the day! Femme Fatale Tour presales have started... Who's coming to see @NickiMinaj & I this summer? http://bit.ly/gaEyPK -Britney." As for Avril, she was busy jet-setting half way around the world to kick off her Black Star tour. "Take off.... On our way to Beijing China to kick off #TheBlackStar Tour," she tweeted.

If the thought of waiting months to see Brit or Avril has you down, fret not: There is excitement to be had as early as tonight. Scandalous, drama-filled ABC Family excitement, to be specific. The stars of "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" took to Twitter to remind fans to tune in. Francia Raisa tweeted, "Happy secret life monday!! Don't forget all new episode tonight at 8pm!" While Megan Park asked fans to weigh in on the upcoming episode, saying, "Happy Monday Secret Life Fans! Who's excited about the show tonight?"

Over the weekend, celebrities of all sorts settled into the uncomfortably warm temperatures of India, California, to check out buzz bands and headlining acts at the Coachella music festival, where artists like Arcade Fire, Kanye West, Kings of Leon and The Strokes took the stage. The event also gave celebrities the opportunity to don their best desert wear, which with temperatures into the 100s, was focused on cool and comfortable.

Lea Michele went short and sweet in her little, stripped polo dress, while Katy Perry went pinup chic in her big, white glasses and black and red checker print top. Rihanna wore her bright red hair big and loose and paired her denim shorts with a black tank and military jacket.

Preparation for the Coachella music festival (the lineup for which includes the likes of Kings of Leon, Arcade Fire and Kanye West) was all over Twitter today. The festival doesn't start until tomorrow, but everyone from Paris Hilton to Kaitlin Olson was getting ready to go. Whitney Port (pictured) mused about manicure options for the event, tweeting, "Thoughts on our Coachella manicures?? http://bit.ly/hZ7Yys I feel like mine are a bit boring... " But not everyone was so sure about the event. DJ Samantha Ronson took the "anti-Coachella" stance. "Headed to shanghai today for a quick holiday. Anyone else think I might be taking this anti-coachella thing a bit too far?," she said on the site. "Greek" star Gregory Michael was more on the fence, tweeting (quite Shakespearean-ly), "To coachella or not to coachella... That is the question."

The upcoming dance flick "Go For It!"'s promotion to bring the premiere to one lucky high school also had some stars talking. "Dancing With the Stars'" Derek Hough blasted about the contest with an enthusiastic, "Let's DANCE! Win Premiere of #GoForIt! Movie for YOUR High School! http://jol.ly/0fDI #Ad." "Keeping Up With the Kardashians"' Kendall Jenner was more concerned with winning than promoting though. "WHAT? I'm soo winning this! Win Premiere of #GoForIt! Movie for YOUR High School! http://jol.ly/0zDI #Ad," she tweeted.

While much of the country is dreaming of a white Christmas, most Californians are just hoping for the seemingly never-ending rain to cease! With Los Angeles enduring nearly a week of rain, some celebs are simply fed up with the unseasonal weather. Lo Bosworth griped on her Twitter that, "Laguna is underwater. Too much damn rain" while Harry Shum Jr. sent a simple, precise message, "Hey rain. Just stop it, ok. Just stop." Still, not everyone in Cali is bothered by the December rain, including Jaimie Alexander who posted that she was, "Curled up under the covers, window open, listening to the rain fall upon the trees."

Meanwhile, the cast of "Little Fockers" is hoping the West Coast plans to stay dry by checking out their latest comedy. Newest "Focker" addition Jessica Alba (pictured) told followers, "I can't wait to hear what ya'll think of the #littlefockers!!!" as her co-star Jillian Rose Reed also made a reminder that, " Little fockers in theaters today!!!!!"

From Whitney Port to Brandy, the stars hit up the red carpet last night for the US Hot Hollywood Party in Los Angeles. Most starlets arrived in short dresses, with the style on the carpet fairly eclectic and overwhelmingly disappointing. We were expecting fashion forward, but what we got were mostly underwhelming (or, in some cases, over-the-top) looks. Keep reading to see which celebs were hot and which were not.

When you hit the red carpet in a dress made out of garbage bags, you can really only go up from there. While we didn't love Ke$ha's silver number, we can't help but acknowledge that it was a major improvement from some of her recent looks. Sure, the hair is um...a little out there, but hey, one step at a time, right? Joining Ke$ha on the carpet was fellow blond, Whitney Port. Whit was definitely one of our favorites of the night in a short, floral, long-sleeved dress, which she paired with a super-cute pair of booties.

We're not usually ones to brag, but we'll admit we're pretty proud of ourselves for bringing Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo together. All right, technically the couple met on the set of Nick's 2006 music video "What's Left of Me," but it can't be just coincidence that the two have a history with MTV. Nick appeared with first wife Jessica Simpson on their own reality show, "Newlyweds," while Vanessa hosted the network's dearly departed countdown show "TRL" for four years. News of their engagement got us thinking about other MTV mainstays that would make perfect couples, so we decided to play matchmaker! First "The Hills," now "The City." After two seasons, Whitney Port's New York City-set reality show will not be returning to the MTV airwaves. Let's pour out a Cosmo in its memory.

Okay, now that the mourning portion of this post is over, let's look to the future—cause that's what Miss Port's doing. When she stopped by Ryan Seacrest's radio show on Monday, the leggy blond told the less-leggy, frosted-tipped blond that she has plans. "I'm working on some other things," Whitney hinted. "It's okay. One door closes and another opens." Though Whitney was a bit vague about what's waiting behind those doors, we've got a few ideas of our own. No one rocked the maxi dress like Lauren Conrad, so we had to give it its moment in the spotlight! Lauren wore this flowy tie-die print maxi to the 2008 Kids Choice Awards. We thought it evoked the ultimate California girl — totally fun and perpetually laid back. Lauren added her own twist to the look by pairing it with a thin belt and adding her token cute side braids. Is it any wonder the girl went on to have her own fashion line?

Just as "The Hills" celebrates his 100th episode, rumors began to fly late Monday night that its sister show, "The City," was going to be canceled just as its West Coast counterpart comes to an end on July 13. But, the show's main gal, Whitney Port, took to her blog to clear up those rumors.

In an open letter, Whitney addressed the online chatter confirming that she is in fact "100 percent committed" to the show. We expect nothing less from our girl. We love Whitney because she is always committed to everything she does.
